Första recensionen är på engelska då boken jag läste var på engelska vilket jag finner passande och hoppas att ni inte har något emot detta :)

The host - Stephenie Meyer

Are you a fan of the Twilight saga, Harry Potter and not a fan of science fiction this is a perfect book for you – science fiction for people who don’t like science fiction combined with the purest, most beautiful and strangest love ever been seen.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer from May 6, 2008 (640p) ISBN 978-0-316-06804-8 is a book beyond imagination, everything you ever dreamt of is just a needle in a haystack compared to Meyer’s creative imagination in this breathtaking story.

The book is written from the perspective of the head characters: the Wanderer and Melanie Stryder and the genre are science fiction, romance and thriller together working in a balance so unbelievable that it becomes believable and real, so real.

Melanie Stryder will not let go, she got the grip of the mind of the Wanderer.

The Earth has been invaded by aliens; unseen enemies from planets of universe no human ever thought existed. The human’s bodies and minds becomes hosts for these invaders, called souls, which hold the bodies intact and the lives continues as before just that the human minds are shuffled away.

Melanie Stryder, who is one of the few “real” humans left on earth, got captured one day and was sure that that was the end for her. Instead the Wanderer, who is a soul, got Melanie´s body before realizing how hard it could be as a human being with all the emotions, different senses and especially all the vibrant memories overwhelming from Melanie. The last part wasn’t waited; Melanie was still in control of the Wanderer´s mind.

The story is from nowadays and about the head characters: Melanie Stryder is this girl who never gives up, a real fighter who lives for the love of her brother and the love of her life: Jared. The Wanderer is a soul with a heart big as all the humans’ hearts together and she only wants to do good whatever situation that will set her in, everyone and everything goes before her, her will and what she needs.

From my opinion I can say that you have to have patience with this book in the beginning, the first 200 pages could easily have been erased because of that nothing really happens, just a lot of explanations that is very hard to follow and to understand anything from. A lot of hard words, jumping between different stories and persons just made me confused and I had doubts about continuing the book or not.

Continuing from page 200 and forward it’s a book that hits all the records and are at a level up high in the blue – a totally must read book. You have to read it because it carries you away, make you forgetting to breathe and is written in the way that you really feel with the people and in the end just makes you sit with your mouth open and tears in your eyes. So touching, unforgettable; a love story in the most beautiful and most horrible way I never thought was possible to even imagine. Nothing is impossible.
